Aviation Accident near Winter Haven Airport
February 25, 2010. A small airplane crashed and is severely damaged at Pickney Drive and U.S. Highway 92 in Winter Haven, Florida. A witness to the aviation accident, Phillip Williams, said that he pulled the unconscious man from the plane. Another person, conscious, was trapped inside the plane until paramedics were able to remove him. Apparently the plane took off at approximately 9:15 a.m. and banked hard right. The plane crashed into the median on U.S. Highway 92 skidding toward Pickney Drive.
