Doctor Indicted in Painkiller Overdose Cases By Moody Law | Personal Injury Attorneys on March 12, 2010

Sergio Rodriguez, 54, was indicted as reported in the Orlando Sentinel by a Palm Beach County grand jury on a total of 18 charges, including murder.  Rodriguez is accused of illegally prescribing oxycodone painkillers to three men who later overdosed and died from the medication.  An undercover detective with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office was able to obtain prescriptions for a variety of painkillers, including oxycodone, methadone, and Xanax (anti-anxiety).

Such illegal prescriptions of controlled medications may form the basis of not only criminal charges, as in this case, but also wrongful death and/or medical malpractice or negligence claims.  If you or a loved one has been injured or killed as the result of medical malpractice, or believe your care to have been negligent, attorneys with Moody Law can evaluate your situation in a free consultation.  The call to our office is free and information on our website is free.
