Person Removed from Van After Accident

Rescuers pulled a man from the back of a van after an accident with a pickup truck.  The accident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. near Fifth Streeet North and 16th Street in St. Petersburg, Florida.  There was no information on how the accident happened or who was involved.  The van landed on its side after the accident.  The pickup truck, a Chevrolet Silverado, had front-end crash damage.  One patient was taken to Bayfront Medical Center and the other was taken to Bay Pines VA hospital.  Another person refused medical treatment.  The intersection was closed while investigators worked.
