Disney World Bus Accident Injures 8
This bus accident injured a total of eight people. The accident occurred when a Walt Disney World bus hit the rear-end of a tour bus operated by the Waldorf Astoria Orlando. The Waldorf bus had stopped in the right hand lane when it was rear ended by the Disney bus. The driver of the Disney bus was unconcious and trapped behind the wheel. Firefighters took about 15 minutes to cut through the bus to free the driver. The driver, still unindentified, has airlifted by helicopter to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Four passengers were transported to Florida Hospital Celebration and three passengers were transported to Dr. Phillips Hospital.
The driver of the Waldorf Astoria bus had no passengers and was outside the bus at the time of the accident. This accident follows a July accident where two Walt Disney World buses collided near the Contemporary Resort on the Disney property. That crash sent a dozen people to four hospitals with minor injuries.
