The driver of a vehicle approaching a school bus has a duty to keep watch for children as where there are school buses, there are oftentimes children getting on and off that bus. A reasonable driver under the circumstances would slow down when passing a school bus (if lights not engaged) so as to anticipate that a child may run across the road. The driver of a motor vehicle is in a better position to prevent or avoid the injury to a child under such circumstances. While children are taught not to run across the road, the judgment of an adult behind the wheel of a dangerous instrumentality is expected to be greater. Personal injury lawyers with Moody Law can discuss with you the facts and circumstances of your case. We help those who have been injured by car accidents in the greater Central Florida area, including Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Haines City, Davenport, or Polk County, Florida. We also handle a select number of cases on a statewide basis. A consultation with one of our personal injury attorneys is free.
