In the event that the vehicle in Mr. Snow's lane is never found, Mr. Snow may still have a claim for his property damage and bodily injuries due to the actions of the "phantom vehicle."  In the event that there is uninsured/underinsured motorists' coverage, Mr. Snow would be able to claim that his accident was the result of a phantom vehicle that forced him to suddenly swerve to avoid the impending crash.  Mr. Snow has some injuries as reported in the St. Petersburg Times.  While Mr. Snow claims to feel lucky, his accident is the result of another person's negligence and he has suffered a loss.
