I-4 Accident with 4 Fatalities By Moody Law | Personal Injury Attorneys on June 22, 2016

Four people died as a result of an accident on Interstate-4.  The accident happened when the driver of a truck struck another vehicle while changing lanes at high speed.  Thereafter, the truck crashed into the center barrier and broke through heading into oncoming traffic from the westbound direction.  The driver and the passenger of the truck were ejected and did not survive.  A child in another vehicle did not survive.  Police are currently looking for Toyota Prius that was near the pickup truck at the time of the initial collision as they need to determine whether it played a role in the collision.

Without factual details, it is impossible to determine whether the Toyota Prius had an involvement in the collision.  Notwithstanding, anything is possible.  Regardless of possibilities, the driver of the pickup truck has a legal duty to maintain an single lane of travel on the highway.  The only evidence described is that the pickup truck changed lanes and struck another vehicle with subsequent collisions occurring thereafter.  As such, the present evidence would place the blame for this accident on an improper lane change at a high rate of speed.  Those who lost their lives have a wrongful death claim against the driver/owner of the pickup truck under Florida law.  If you are a survivor of someone who died due to the negligence of another, please contact a Lakeland wrongful death attorney for a free consultation.
